'Menagerie'
Working on the texture and depth of an abstract painting, the addition of a pink spiral resembled a flamingo, so I enhanced the form. It was then that the other animals started to emerge, a horse, a zebra/giraffe form, a dodo, a lizard, a fox/dingo, a seal, two parrots, a blue Japanese lucky frog and a snake. Each animals completion led to the emergence of the next. A truly magical painting that grew intuitively without any plan.
I create these paintings by adding layer, upon layer of paint. I use many different techniques to apply the paint, as well as scratching down with various tools to reveal layers underneath resulting in great depth and visual interest.
My paintings are full of meaning and filled with colour, love and joy.
The painting is acyrlic on deep box canvas 76 x 50 x 4cm, unframed, signed on the back and complete with d-rings and hanging string so it can go straight on the wall.
I carefully wrap and despatch orders as soon as possible and send via a signed for service.
